teeth?

you know the saying, "you know your baby best"

well i know my LO has been bother by teeth for months. ive read, been told by my dr, etc that some babies feel every slight movement and can be bothered... lucky us.

it seems to be really bad lately and im really hoping they break through asap, im expecting like 4 at once.

my question is what helps LO at night during these bad times and how long did the bad stretches last?

ave age for getting teeth? can i help them come through anyway?

Some babies handle it better than others. There's nothing you can do other than comfort them at night, Tylenol, teething rings, frozen wash clothes. Sometimes gripe water.

Dd has been wearing a Baltic Amber bracelet on her ankle since I think like 3 months. She barely made a peep when's he cut her first tooth. Playing and laughing during the day. Still sttn except she would wake at 9pm crying, we would comfort her and rock her and she slept until morning.

They start teething at 4 months. Teeth are moving under their gums and some are bothered by it but it's not necessarily them cutting a tooth.

Dd just got her first lower middle tooth at 7 1/2 months.

We used Motrin at night - it provided more relief for my boys than Tylenol. We used the liquid teething toys too - but, we put them in the freezer.

Each kid handles teething differently. For DS 1, you knew when a tooth was coming through since you didn't sleep the night before most of them came in. DS 2 was a lot better with it and we didn't even realize his first tooth had come in! He had one bad night - and it was because he cut three molars at once.

DS 1 got his first tooth at 7 months and his last at 22 months. DS 2 got his first tooth at 6 months and his last at 23 months.

Re: teeth?

Honesty, Advil was the only thing that helped. As much as I hated giving her meds, it was the only thing that gave her comfort.

Tylenol or Motrin helps DS when his teeth are really bothering him. It's usually only bad for a few days to a week before the tooth breaks through and then he's fine again.

There's no average age for teeth. DS is almost 13 months old and still only has 4 teeth. I know babies the same age with half their teeth in already. As with everything else, every baby is different.

Guess kids are different.

MIL swore DS was teething from 3 months old.
I don't buy it. I think he was just cranky.

Both kids got their teeth at 11 months. I just saw them one day. No symptoms.

Re: teeth?

My DD just started using the Baltic teething anklet. When her first tooth came in, she was MISERABLE!!!! It was also a top tooth. About 2-3 weeks ago we started using the amber anklet. Last week, she was drooling a lot and sure enough, her two bottom teeth had popped through. No irritability, no fuss. We will see what happens when the other top tooth comes in.

Re: teeth?

My DD is 9 months old. She has 6 teeth. She just got 4 of them at once! For a week now, I have given her advil at night to ease the pain. I am going to try not giving it to her tomorrow night to see how she does. I can't even imagine the pain she is in getting so many at once. During the day, Sophie the giraffe and damp washcloths soothe her. At night, advil does the job because it lasts for 8 hours.
Also, DD got her first tooth at 3.5 months so she's been teething for months now. It can happen early!
