BTDT: 39 weeks and no progress?
I had my 39 week check yesterday and the doctor said my cervix is still closed and hard. I know this doesn't mean much at all, and my doctor said I could dilate overnight and even go into labor today. I'm really not even sure what the point of the check is. When I asked my doctor, she said it was just to see how far I had to go once I do go into labor....hm..okay...
Anyway, just wondering if any of you BTDT moms have been in a similar situation and how soon after you went into labor and delivered.

I was the same
39 week appointment and NOTHING going on.
Made the appointment for the next week and they said at that point if still nothing they would discuss inducing etc.
I gave birth the day before that appointment.
I went from nothing going on to having her less than a week later.
It really doesn't mean much and things can change so quick!

BTDT: 39 weeks and no progress?
I wasnt dilated at all but was effaced...don't remember the percentage. I ended up being induced successfully.
Anything can happen though. GL

Fingers crossed that a similar outcome happens for me! I would really rather not need to be induced.

At 40w 6d my doctor told me the same thing (0% effaced and not dilated). We scheduled an induction for the following week. At 3am the next morning I woke up with contractions and by that night was in labor
It can definately happen quickly so don't worry too much about it

I remember the frustration!! I was you just a few weeks ago. at my 40 week appointment- nothing- had a sonogram the following day and we scheduled to be induced two days later but that night my water broke and contractions came quickly! baby was born very next morning. s/he will be here soon - hang in there!

At my 39 week appt nothing was going on. My water broke at 39 w 2 days. DS was born the next morning.

same for me. Fingertip dilated & 60% (I think) effaced ... never went into labor on my own & was induced successfully 10 days after due date
At every appt the dr would tell me, just because nothing's going on now, you could be in labor tonight (didn't happen for me but he said he saw it happen many times)

that was me! my water broke two days past due date but i was only at 1cm and 80% effaced lol...30 hr labor later he was here. waiting sucks!

At my 40 week appt I was not dilated and baby hadn't dropped - 13 hours later my water broke and contractions started! I was supposed to have a c section the next day but ended up having it in the middle of the night :)
