Failed my 3 hour. I have a few questions
So I failed 2 of the 4 parts to the 3 hour GTT. I failed the fasting by 1 point! And the 1st draw by 4! So frustrating. I passed the next 2 with flying colors
Obviously they consider me GD now.
Anyone have some advice for me?

Just that it's not as bad as you think. What works for me may not work for you. It's for the most part only temporary.

Re: Failed my 3 hour. I have a few questions
I know it sucks to get the diagnosis, I was BUMMED. But, it really isn't that bad. They will send you to a nutritionist to go over diet, etc. And you have to test your sugars like 4x a day (that was the case for me anyway). That part is not too fun, but you get used to it. Big hugs to you!

Failed my 3 hour. I have a few questions
I already got the meter (I'm a nurse and wasn't going to waste time). Been checking my sugars. It seems that my fasting one is always high 97-105). Them throughout the day they remains 115- 75 depending on if it's 1 or 2 hours after meals etc.

I have the same problem with my fasting numbers. Dr. put me on Metformin and they've stabilized.

Interesting. Ok. I guess I will see how it goes. How strict of a diet are you on. I noticed that a corn muffin made my 1 hour post breakfast go to 150 (that was my only high number since I started) but 2 slices I pizza for dinner my 1 hour was 97.
Isn't that strange?

I thought so too but I'm the same way with pizza! The only time my # went up from eating 2 slices pizza was when it was a crust made with cornmeal. Regular plain crust and I'm fine!
Walking a bit after meals helps bring the #'s down. I test after 2 hours.
I was pretty strict with what I ate and all of my #'s were within range but I was also losing a lot of weight and my dr. told me that I needed to be less strict so I can start gaining. So, I'm more lenient now. I have higher numbers on occasion but nothing crazy. My doctor has been thrilled. I've been dealing with this since 13w. I'm ready for it to be over lol.
