Table foods for 9-10 month old
Im looking to introduce more table foods to my daughter who's 9 months. Any ideas on what's appropriate? The pediatrician didn't give much guidance. My daughter loves to feed herself so I would like to start increasing her foods, but I'm not sure what to give her. Thanks!

Re: Table foods for 9-10 month old
Dd is 10 months and eats everything. Meatballs, chicken nuggets, peas, carrots, avacado, puffs Cheerios, all fruit, cheese ( cheese sticks are easier than sliced cheese) yogurt ( I feed) grilled cheese, quesadilla, . Anything really. I haven't given fish, eggs, pork just b/c I haven't lol. I should try them. So far the only thing she doesn't like is bananas.
I'm actually down to 2 bottles of a formula a day b/c she eats a ton. She's growing and gaining so I'm not worried.
I wouldn't stress over what to give. What ever you eat she can eat. Spices and all.

Wow, my kid is the opposite. He loves bananas the most. My ds has a very strong gag reflex. He likes the taste of meatballs and chicken, but can't swallow them. He will just chew for a half an hour, then I pull it out of his mouth. I feed him half a pancake with butter as a snack and I go to moes and chipotle a lot, so I give him black beans. He likes them and swallows it easy.

Table foods for 9-10 month old
My 10 month old loves yogurt, cheese sticks cut up, lentil beans, cheerios, cottage cheese, all fruits, most veggies, most meat that we make for dinner, he gets cut up small, soup, mac & cheese, cous cous, pasta, puffins, he will even eat baby goldfish, but I break them in half.

I am very intrigued by this. My ds can't swallow meat no matter how I cook it. Any tips or do you think it is just a natural process. I gave him a piece of pasta and he gagged on that too. Granted, he only has a few front teeth.

Sloppy joe meat, pasta (cut up small), grilled cheese, pb&j sandwich (my ped didn't want us to wait to introduce peanuts and she has reacted fine), mac and cheese, quesadilla, plantains, soup, toast, ritz crackers, yogurt, belvita crackers, oatmeal, rice, mashed potatoes, peas, carrots, broccoli, green beans, cold cuts.
In general we try to give her whatever we are eating. Most of the time it works out fine.

dd only has 4 on bottom and 2 up top
but even before those teeth she was able to mash and swallow food. I would talk to your ped about it. He should be swallowing it I think.

DD is still not thrilled with meat at 21 months. She does best with fish sticks actually and sometimes will do chicken nuggets or meatballs. Most meat depends on the day.
I do think it depends on the kid but I don't think I'd be worried. Our ped warned me that some kids will chow down on steak at 8 months and others are still gagging on baby food and that it's normal and not to make ourselves crazy if they struggle.

I steam then shred chicken breast. Put it on their tray or in a bowl that stays put. Let your baby feed himself this is hiw my D learned to use her tongue & gum her food & learn gag reflex ...
