When packing for vacation

We are staying at a timeshare in Aruba so they have everything we need for the kitchen. I have a 4 and 2 year old. We do the food shopping the first day so usually get paper plates and some plastic silverware since we stay on the beach and take stuff outside.
I buy those take and toss sippies at Target for my 2 year old and even my 4 year old uses them on the beach along with water bottles.
My 2 year old loves his cereal and I give him a plastic bowl. Silly question, but do you give them the regular plates or plastic when out. I know some will say their LO's are fine with the nice plates. My 4 year old is. It's my 2 year old I worry about. He's in the "terrible 2's" phase. Very stubborn and has dropped his plate or bowl. He's also just clumsy so doesn't always do it on purpose. Will walk around with the bowl, etc. Do you bring those take and toss containers too? Was thinking of getting a bunch for breakfast and then using them to pack for the beach for the day even though the timeshare is a short walk to the beach.
Any other good ideas?

Re: When packing for vacation

ha! I am starting my list of what to pack to take my 1 year old to my parent's time share in Aruba in 5 weeks (a week after he turns 1!

We go every year, but i feel like with DS now we need so much stuff! This surely changes it all up!

We stay at the ocean club. I am bringing a sippy cup, his bottles, maybe a plastic bowl. there is a full kitchen, we can clean things and put them in the dishwasher every night so I don't feel like we need too much of that stuff.

It's the food, diapers, snacks, formula (we are waiting to start milk for after we get home to cause I don't want to transition there) etc. that I think we are better off bringing in case they don't have them down there!

When packing for vacation

My DS is 2 and we give him whatever is around. I on vacation I would not pack extra stuff just so he didn't have glass plates/cups/ etc.

In TS's things get broken all the time. They are not going to charge you for a single plate....adults can break them just as easily as a kid.

We're going in 3 weeks to the Marriott Ocean Club. It's my IL's timeshare. That's funny. Love that we have the full kitchen too. I'm trying not to take a ton. Have my list so I'll share if it helps. Mostly for my 2 year old. My 4 year old doesn't as much.
We'll use their crib, towels, etc. I always ask for more. Chat Icon
diapers, swimmy diapers, sippy cups, take and toss bowls for snacks on the beach, hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, bathing suits, summer clothes, beach bag, ziplock bags, etc
We get a lot of stuff at the supermarket everyone goes to. LOL! There's always the market in the Marriott too incase we need anything.
We go every year too. Since my IL's are with us we go out a few nights and they watch the boys. We've been to restaurants there with the boys and find it's easier to stay late on the beach and give them dinner on the beach or when we go in, shower, PJ's and then to bed. By then it's usually 8 so DH and I sometimes order in and watch a movie, have some wine, beer, etc. We go out the nights my IL's watch.

Thanks! I'll have them use whatever is in the timeshare. We've been there before, but I do bring some plastic bowls that stack together for snacks when we go on the beach.

DH broke a plate at the Marriott Ocean Club in Aruba before we had kids and we didn't get charged lol.

I would make it easy. I don't think I'd even bring bowls for snacks - I'd use zip locks or just buy single serve packets from the supermarket. You have enough to pack otherwise.

We LOVE the restaurants down there! We made all our reservations with him, so hopefully we will all go to dinner together. If it does not go well we will have to change the plan once we are there. I figure snack, DVD player and toys will help! Also, DS is a ham, if people talk to him, wave to him, etc he will be well entertained!!!! He LOVES peopls! LOL

There is so much to friggin' pack!!!!
