Watching 2 or more kids in cowded places ....
DD is about to start walking in the next few weeks and I'm already wondering how I am going to keep an eye on 2 active, mobile kids.
What do you do in crowded public places likes birthday parties, McDonald's play areas, etc? Do you just avoid them during the busy times?

I have twins that are 26 months. I would stay away at all costs if I know its going to be crowded. If you are going to a party, that is different story.

Watching 2 or more kids in cowded places ....
My twins just turned3 and my 17 months old DS just started walking about a month ago. We have those Skip Hop Back pack harnesses. I never take them to crowded places alone. DH and I are always together for play places, bday parties, etc. When going to a park or something, we always go with friends and their kids. It's rough but you figure out a way!

One of my friends dresses her kids in a bright color that is uncommon (like orange) when they go to public places so that she can easily see her kids. I've never tried it, but she swears it helps.

My 3rd isn't walking yet but I taught my twins to stay together from early on. It took a while for them to understand but now they know they stay together and one will pick something they want to do then the other one gets to pick.

Re: Watching 2 or more kids in cowded places ....
I let you know tomorrow after my kids go to a kids party at McDonald's. lol. I try to bring dh if I can. If not I keep them in the stroller for a bit. Most times another mom ends up helping with one at some point. Usually one who is there with an older kid. I'm worried at this age that my kids can't keep up in the play area with the older kids but they are walking so they will want to play.
Out at stores they stay in a cart or stroller.

Re: Watching 2 or more kids in cowded places ....
For really crowded places I just simply don't take them alone. I wait for dh or my mom to come with me. My oldest is very well behaved and knows to stay close by but I still want to keep my eyes on her at all times. My youngest is a runner so there is no way I would take them to some place that was crowded. For places like the library or a small enclosed park I stay super close to my youngest (arms length) and my oldest can have a little more space but never too far. My oldest knows when I saw come back she is going to far. I also have used a baby harness with my youngest I really don't care who looks at me.
