When do you stop calling to check in at day care?
This is my son's second week of "school" / daycare he goes three days a week.
He is doing better, still cries when I leave him but yesterday had a great day.
I called twice a day to check on him up to now--today I called just now and wont call again.
Am I annoying them? lol Should I stop calling? It is his 2nd week...

I never called but it's a little different i think with an in-home daycare. The owner texted me to let me know how she was, etc. the first week (3 days a week here too). After that, i don't hear unless theres a problem.

I called the first day and that was it. They give us a sheet telling us how he was each day

I called the first and second day. Maybe the third.
Every time I called they said all was ok so I didn't see the point anymore.
I figured they would call me if there was anything wrong.

I only called the first, maybe the second day.
I did get to go visit him at lunch cause it is soooo close to work. But that was just to see him cause I missed him. IF i didn't do that, I would NOT have called. I wasn't going to check up on them or him so much, just to spend extra time with im. I did not do it everyday either.

Thanks girls, I think I will stop calling now  he is adjusted for the most part though he still cries when I leave.

Never called. DS has been there since 8 weeks. He has weeks where he will cry and some where he tells my DH you go now daddy. Those are the days that break my DHs heart not the crying days. THe ones he tells him to go mean to us that he is a big boy now!!!

I called the first week I think and that was it. I didn't want to stop them from caring for the kids. And realistically, even if DD was having a bad day, I don't think they'd tell me and worry me.

I'm close with the owner now, so she will always text me if something comes up.

Same. The only time we did call again was after DS was born and she was not herself for a few days. Once she was back to normal we stopped calling.
I wouldn't worry about annoying them. If you feel like u want to call, go right ahead. It's not like he's been going there for months and you're still calling daily . . . This is still new, I think it's fine to call.
