tooth fairy going rates?

I can't believe that my baby is going to loose his first tooth. It is so wiggly. What is the going rate for the first tooth these days?
Thanks

I have heard everything from $2-25. Most people I know gave $15-25 ONLY did so for that special 1st tooth. They gave .50cents to $2 a tooth after that. I hear everything in between. Other people gave $5 a tooth.

I gave my DD $20. I only did so because her tooth was loose for 4 months and most of her friends lost a tooth the year before so she was so excited. She got $1 for the one that came out the following week. I think $1 per tooth for the rest is probable what I will go with.

I would give what you want to give. My DD saves all her money so I didn't mind giving her a little bit more.

I could see @ $20 for the first and $5 - $10 after that. It's going to your kid so it's a "good cause" but you need to do what works for your wallet.

DS only lost 2 teeth so far. We have him $20 for the first tooth and then $5 for the other tooth.

$20 for the first, and a couple of others depending on what I had on hand. One time I had time to plan since she lost it in the morning (they usually fall out before bedtime!). I got 5 gold one dollar coins from the bank. She loved that.
