How big is your small nursery? Updated Question
We would like to keep our guest room a guest room for as long as possible which would mean using the small 4th bedroom as a nursery.
The size is 8'.10" X 9'.1".
Any pictures of your small nursery or furniture options to maximize space would be awesome. Thanks
ETA: Would you guys do a full size crib that can convert to full size bed (this is what we have for DS) OR a mini crib that would convert to twin bed. The mini crib would take a lot less space I guess, right? thanks

I don't have pics, but we have a small Nursery.
We added a second bar to the closet so there are 2 bars for hanging clothes (which is fine for small baby/toddler clothes!) and then we have one 6-drawer dresser which doubles as a changing table. That was more than enough room for all of DD's things.
Then we added a small bookcase for books, and some floating shelves on the wall for photos, piggy bank, etc.
As long as you're on top of rotating clothes out when they are outgrown/out of season, you should be fine!

We don't have a small nursery but you really don't need much space for them. You really just need a crib and a dresser with a changing pad on top. A rocker or glider in the corner and a small rug for them to play.

Mine is 7.5x 11. So its long but super narrow. I don't think I have any pics but I will look when I get home. We only had a crib and dresser in there and the glider for a little bit. We just switched him out to a twin bed and we just have twin bed and dresser in there and its tough but he makes due.

Re: How big is your small nursery?
We did the same thing, used the smallest bedroom which is roughly 10' x 10'. Here are a few pictures.
We are moving my son to a bigger room soon b/c a full bed JUST makes it in this room, but it was a great nursery.
We bought a changing pad to use on top of the small piece of furniture but we wound up keeping it downstairs and used it on the kitchen or coffee table for changing. Plus I heard it could scratch the finish on the furniture so we opted not to attach it.

Mine is 8 x 12 I think with a weird little bump out Right now I have 2 dressers in there but plan to switch the white furniture with ds's expresso furniture then there will be one long dresser. I plan on getting the ikea cubes (I forget the name) for toy storage

We have used the same nursery for our two boys and will use it for this baby as well. I forget the exact measurements but I think it's around 8'x9'. I'm on my phone now so can't post pics here, but if you're interested, you can check out my album 'Nursery.'

Ours is the smallest room and my DH still has a desk and a closet in there. He is going to share with the baby, lol.

Re: How big is your small nursery?
my childs room is probably the same or smaller than your measurements. we have the crib on one wall with a changer attached and 3 drawers underneath, another wall has a tall dresser w/ 4 drawers, another wall has a long dresser and the other wall has an armoire with a clothing rod on top and some drawers on the bottom. There is no closet in that room so the armoire was needed for clothes that need to be hung up.

is that crib a mini crib or full size? i saw this online in a mini crib version but the changer looked so small and i wonder how a baby could fit on it past 6 months...is it bigger in person? thanks

How big is your small nursery? Updated Question
our nursery is pretty small too. i forget the measurements, but smaller than DS1's room. i looked into the mini crib but couldn't find a ton of reviews and the options were pretty limited. i decided to get a regular inexpensive crib, but not bother with the full bed conversion kit (we did get the toddler kit). i got a matching changing table and am using an armoir that we had in the room (formally a guest room). the closet is very small so the armoir will provide much needed extra storage space. once the baby outgrows the crib/toddler bed, we will buy him a twin size bed with matching dressers and ditch the armoir.
it was so much easier with DS1 and his bigger room. we bought him a whole set that converts to full size and hopefully he will have that set until he moves out.
i would recommend going to the stores and looking at the smaller cribs or cribs with changing tables attached. that helped me envision how the room could be set up. it's definitely doable!

How big is your small nursery? Updated Question
I would not do a mini crib. They will grow out of it very soon. If you want a more compact crib I would go with either an ikea one or the basic non fancy ones. When I was measurement cribs the fancy ones def took up more room. The ikea ones take a reg crib mattress but are no frills (but rated great). We never bought the conversion kit for our crib and it will probably NEVER be used as a full size bed. We went from crib to twin with my DS.

Re: How big is your small nursery? Updated Question
We did the crib that converts to the full size bed and it's simply not going to fit in the current room. We'll be moving DS to a bigger room b/c of this.
If you are going to keep your little one in that room for the long haul, I'd say go with twin.

How big is your small nursery? Updated Question
My DS room is 7 by 11. We currently have a toddler bed (Full crib), a dresser a small toy chest and a thin bookcase. It actually all fits decently well. I don't know how a full sized bed would work in my room as the window is in an odd place but I am probably going to get a trundle bed in the future which will be twin sized in its closed form. This way if we have a second LO before we are able to move out of our apt, they can share the room temporarily without it taking up much more additional space.

Re: How big is your small nursery? Updated Question
I don't have a picture but when I had my first son his nursery was super small. It's wasn't really even suppose to be a bedroom. Just a small office with no closet. I fit a regular size crib, dresser changing table and tall dresser in there and it looked fine.
The above pictures of nurseries posted where much bigger then my DS. Don't bother with a mini crib

Our dimensions are about the same and we have a full size convertible crib in ours with no problem.

Re: How big is your small nursery? Updated Question
Our nursery is 8.5 x 10. We are doing very limited furniture. I have decided to do a mini crib BUT BEWARE - I have been having so much trouble finding a good mattress, then sheets and mattress pad for the mattress. There are very limited options.

How big is your small nursery? Updated Question
I think we will do a regular convertible crib bc we do have a larger bedroom we will move the baby into when they are older and then we would like to have a full size bed like DS has now. Thanks for all the info and pics it was super helpful!
