WWYD? Baby stuff ruined at Laundry
I brought over some baby stuff to be laundered. Told them about how some stuff has a waterproof backing, so it needs to be dried on low. They said they are not responsible for anything. So I said if it is dried on low, it will be ok. So I then asked, can you dry everything on low? She said yes, no problem.
I got my stuff back, and everything that was supposed to be dried on low - was melted.
Stuff like a brand new sherpa bunting outfit. 4 Diaper changing pad covers that go over actual cover, seat insert from rocker, a teddy bear, and 2 mattress protector pads.
I was pretty disappointed to say the least. But I feel like it's my fault for trusting anyone else to do the right thing.
Would you go back to them & ask them to recover the losses even though they said they would not be responsible? It seems like some items are more damaged than others, as if they forgot & then realized it should have been on low.

I absolutely would go back. Just curious how come you didn't wash everything yourself?

Sorry to crash but they may have dried it on low. I dried two things when Iwas preg with ds that had waterproof backings. Sure enough, they melted. Did the tags on the items say dry on low?

This. There is also a difference between home dryers and commercial dryers. I think you are suck and they also said they aren't responsible.

unfortunately i dont think there is anything you can do - they told you right away that they arent responsible. plus as the pp mentioned, commercial dryers are stronger than residential ones so it could have in fact been dried on low. sorry

thing is, i gave them two other mattress protectors a couple of weeks ago, and had my husband ask them to dry on low - those came back perfectly fine & semi-damp even.
i've been using them for a while now, and have never had a problem before asking them to not dry certain things, or dry certain things on low.
and yes, all tags specify to dry on low.
but i do think you're all right. it's totally my fault for thinking they could take extra care for such delicate things, even though they have in the past, it is a risk that i'm taking.
