Re: Coloring Hair when pregnant
i feel like every doctor will tell you something different. my OB is on the conservative side so he says no way
i've heard as long as nothing touches your scalp, its fine. but i've also heard of pregnant women getting highlights & full dye jobs & being totally fine. i think its what you are comfortable with & what your doctor advises
i dont dye my hair anymore, but when i was pregnant with my son i let my roots grow and they were BAAAAAD by the time i gave birth. it just wasnt something i was willing to risk. i got my hair dyed when he was around 3 months old & it was the best lol

Coloring Hair when pregnant
I get a full head of highlights and was told by my OB its not an issue to continue as I normally would. My doctor did mention I might be more sensative to the salon smells and to ask to be in a well ventilated area if it become a problem. I got highlights at 12 weeks and didn't notice any smell sensativity. The few books I have read also agreed highlighting hair was fine.

I had 2 OBs and both said do whatever you want. I colored and highlighted my hair the entire pregnancy and it was as early as 6 weeks.
DS is 2 and beyond healthy.

Re: Coloring Hair when pregnant
My OB says highlights are safe, just no dyes that saturate the scalp.

I need to, badly. I can't believe how many grays have been showing up. I feel like I'm too young for this. But I'm afraid to. So I decided once he is born i'll treat myself to a professional coloring.

Re: Coloring Hair when pregnant
I was told to wait until I'm out of the first trimester. The second I hit 14 weeks, I am running to the salon.

I have colored the entire pregnancy also. My OB said if I am really worried then to wait till after the 12 week mark, but he said I was safe to all along. I dyed my hair at 4 weeks (before I knew) and every 4 weeks after.

Re: Coloring Hair when pregnant
I waited until the 2nd trimester and then I used henna to color my hair. I figured because it was plant based it would be better than typical dyes.

Pretty much this. I got a full head of highlights the day before I peed on the stick. I continued throughout my pregnancy. The OB said to me- as long as you don't' drink the dye you should be ok!
