How old was you LO when they first went ice skating?
My DD is 2.5. I'm 7.5 months pregnant, so she'd be going with my DH.

Perfect age, she may be frightened though. Our boys went at 2 & loved it. It has become a weekly thing in our house

DS 3.5
DD almost 2 (we took them together).
Most places say wait until 3 or 4.
My babysitter is an instructor. She says only 30 minutes max time for ice skating. Don't push the kid (if they cry, game over) & from experience, you have to be pretty good to support the little one who is always sliding & falling.
DS is actually very good. After 3 sessions, he can go solo for short distances.
Bring a helmet.

Do they wear regular ice skates? Also, someone mentioned that some rinks have stablizers for kids (she described it like a walker), has anyone ever used one? DD is 2.5 and is always talking about ice skating (I think there is a Peppa Pig episode about skating) and I would love to take her.

I don't have any answers except that there is a Peppa Pig episode and DD constantly talks about ice skating because of that and the Disney Twice Upon a Christmas special that aired recently. Minnie and Daisy have a skate off! My DD runs around flailing her arms and says she "just pretending" to iceskate!!

We use regular ice skates.
My babysitter told me not to teach with double blades.
DD is a size 7.
They had size 6.
