Kids getting possesive over family member
My 4 yr old DS is a sweet boy and loves his family. He LOVES his uncle a lot. My SIL's husband is a big kid and plays so great with the boys so my 4 yr old formed a wonderful bond with him. Now the issue is how possessive he gets when his uncle is around. He only wants to be with him and gets upset and moody at me if his uncle has to take a call, goes away to talk to someone, etc. I just don't like how DS acts around him. We usually all get together with my IL's and now DS won't even play with them so much. I speak to him about playing with "everyone" and it's not nice to leave pple out. He also loves his brother, but the moment his uncle comes and sometimes other family members come he is mean to his little brother. I know it's normal, but any advise how to talk with DS about how he treats others? Just makes me sad that he's mean to others and ignores when he's really a sweet loving boy. This is has been going on for about 6 - 8 months now.

I think it's a phase that will pass. My nephew plays favorites with my sister and I, but eventually he stops. I would definitely talk to him about playing with everyone, it can't hurt! I think he will grow out of it :)
ETA: Does he have consequences when he is mean to others? Repercussions might help deter the behavior.
