Breastfeed babies and sippy cups??
DD is 9 months old and will not hold or use a sippy cup even if I hold it she could careless. I'm not sure if it cause she is still breastfeeding? She will take a bottle from my parents during the day but sippy cups nope. Any tips would be great. By a year I would like to start slowing down on the nursing.

Re: Breastfeed babies and sippy cups??
Just keep trying. We EBF and DD was introduced to sippy cups of water around 7 months and had no issues. I used the playtex lil grippers with the straw. You can squeeze the cup to force liquid up the straw so they get the idea to suck on the straw. Personally, I would only give the straw sippy cups until she figures it out, bc once they can drink from a straw, they can pretty much drink from anything.

Re: Breastfeed babies and sippy cups??
My last 2 went from bfing straight to cup. I gave them cups of water at 9 months. During meals or whenever. Then around 11.5 months, small cups of milk at meal times. After 12 months they both weened to the cup gradually. As I replaced mealtime cups for nursing, gradually. Both completely done by 13ish months.

I really don;t think its a BF or FF thing. the transition to a cup is usually a LONG process. We started at 6 months and he didn't really take to it until a year and he was only FF.
Just keep trying. it will click one day

I got dd started with straws around that age. After a month or so of drinking from a straw while I held the cup for her she started trying to hold it herself. Just keep practicing. She will get it eventually.
