Rice For Reflux
Those of you who put rice in LO's bottle for reflux- did you find it to be binding? DD hasn't popped in 2 days since we increased the rice and it seems to be bothering her.

Re: Rice For Reflux
Definitely found it binding so our GI said we should switch to oatmeal. That helped.

Re: Rice For Reflux
We were told oatmeal. Definitely don't want a reflux bsby bound up. It makes it worse.

Re: Rice For Reflux
Thanks- I won't switch until I speak to him, but is it the same ratio as the rice? (1tsp rice/2oz formula is what we are on). I hate switching things so many times when she is only 6 weeks old. :(

No, when we switched to oatmeal, DS's GI also changed the ratio. I'm not sure if it was b/c of the type of cereal or for some other reason.
ETA: But we also didn't change b/c the rice was binding. It just wasn't helping with his reflux.

I'm not sure it's helping with DD's either and she's pooping less. I feel like for every step we take forward, we take 2 back. I hate seeing my daughter practically choke with the reflux after feedings and during feedings she is wriggling her body all over the place. I just want her comfortable already!

Are you seeing a pediatric GI?
