Dairy free pancakes
My daughter has a milk allergy and now that she's 8 months old we want to introduce pancakes. Does anyone know where I can buy dairy free pancakes or recipes for them?
Thanks!

Re: Dairy free pancakes
I'm sure there are dairy free recipe sites or blogs if you google. Or even mixes at the grocery store or whole foods. You might be able to use almond milk instead or regular in just a regular pancake recipe.

Re: Dairy free pancakes
Also, has she been introduced to eggs yet? We did that at 9 mo so we knew we could do pancakes and French toast. My one dd had milk allergy but was ok with the yogurt melts which have dairy. Then we accidentally gave her her sisters bottle and she was fine so we slowly took her off alimentum at 9 mo. I know some babies have the allergy longer though.

We substitute almond or soy milk. One problem we ran into was that we can't make waffles. for some reason, this substituion makes for a wafflemaker nightmare!

You can use almond milk, earth balance butter, and applesauce instead of eggs.

Re: Dairy free pancakes
The trader joes gluten free frozen pancakes and waffles are also dairy free. They don't taste too bad! I did those with a smear of peanut butter or a smear of non-dairy spread (like a margarine) and dd loved them!

Some of the gluten free products at trader joes still have casein in them so make sure you read the label really closely. Stop and shop and cherry brook farms makes a dairy free mix that I make with soy milk.

Dairy free pancakes
Thanks for the recommendations! I'm going to look into Trader Joes. I know there's a lot of recipes out there for dairy free, but I was really looking for the frozen ones for when I'm short on time.
Thanks again!

Re: Dairy free pancakes
We had the same issue. I think I used either the stop & Shop brand or king kullen brand complete pancake mix. You use water to make it and the mix itself contained no milk or eggs.

We like the Stop & Shop old fashioned pancake mix. You are supposed to add eggs and milk, but since DD is allergic to dairy, we've always used fruit purees in place of milk. Before we introduced DD to eggs, we skipped added eggs to the mix too.
We make one batch every few weeks, make the pancakes silver dollar sized and freeze them so we always have some on hand. I like that she gets fruit with her carbs.

These trader joes ones are whey and casein free.
