Glitter everywhere!
Ahhh! DD got quite a few dress up dresses from extended fam for Xmas. She loves them and wants to be in them constantly (which is a whole separate post), but now there is a coating of glitter on every surface of my house. Even if I contain her to one room, it ends up everywhere because it gets on us, the dog, etc. My neat freak DH is having a coronary.
Do you think washing them will help?

Re: Glitter everywhere!
Ugh, that's so annoying. I bought DD a dress up trunk from Costco for Xmas and I opened it up before I wrapped it to take the plastic off. I'm so glad I did because the pieces shed glitter like crazy and the things weren't even machine washable. I returned it bc I can't stand glitter everywhere. Do you think your daughter would notice if you got rid of them?

Glitter everywhere!
Maybe get a few dress up pieces without glitter and switch them out? Would she notice or care? DH would flip too! He can't stand even the tiniest amount of glitter on a card.

Oh yes, lol. She got one dress on Xmas eve that doesn't have glitter, but of course, she LOVES the four that she got the next day that do. My cousin and aunt bought her four different Disney costumes. Yet another reason to hate on the Disney Princesses. It's so annoying. I'm sure they're not machine washable either. I'm going to try hand washing them..maybe just to loosen up the excess glitter.

I can't stand that either. My DD wants to use her costumes a lot too and I limit it b/c I hate the glitter everywhere.

Re: Glitter everywhere!
Sounds like you better hope she outgrows those dresses fast!
I think you just have to deal with it for now, and hope that the glitter sheds less as it's worn more.

Glitter everywhere!
I've washed the disney princess dresses on delicate and it has helped to reduce the glitter. It does eventually stop shedding as much glitter though.

Glitter everywhere!
I feel your pain. My mother bought DD a beautiful gold Christmas dress. I didn't realize until I put it on her that day that it had glitter and it got everywhere! If she loves the dresses, I would try washing them on delicate to reduce the glitter.

Re: Glitter everywhere!
if you do wash and dry them be prepared when you take out your lint thing. its like a party in there each time you open it. dd had got a dress up one with glitter and i just couldnt deal so i cut the glitter part off.

Re: Glitter everywhere!
I hate glitter too! My dd has a few dolls with those glitter dresses and I feel like throwing them out! LOL! It gets everywhere on her face -on the furniture --so annoying!
I know things look pretty with the glitter but why do companies make shirts, dolls, toys, etc. with it--- I feel your pain!
