Folic acid question
Does anyone take extra folic acid besides what is in the prenatal vitamins?

No, my doctor told me not to take them anymore. I was taking 400 mcg with my multivitamin and she told me to only take my prenatal.

I have a MTHFR gene mutation that requires more folic acid so I take a prescription folic plus my prenatals..
no more is required if you have normal levels.

Folic acid question
Im taking an OTC the prenatal- so I was told that an adtl folic acid was needed....If I had stayed with prescription vitamins- then I wouldn't have to take both, but it ended up cheaper to buy them OTC!
