Are bumpers dangerous?
Yes, they are considered dangerous. You can not even have them shipped to some states. There have been cases where babies have suffocated due to the bumpers.

Are bumpers dangerous?
Yes. They have been connected with an increased risk of SIDS.

So why use them?
Yes.
I don't use them. With Dd I had them on the crib for the look before she actually slept in the crib...once she was moved into the crib, we took them off and never used them again. With #2 on the way, I bought him a PB Quilt, crib skirt and sheets, no bumper since they seem to be such a waste.

Are bumpers dangerous?
Yes. The set I registered for does not come with bumpers but sells them separately. Even if the set I got came with bumpers, I'd never use them. They'd stay in the bag or would be thrown out.

Re: Are bumpers dangerous?
Yes they are dangerous. If you want a bumper, the breathable ones are the way to go.

So why use them?
From what I know, people use them because they look nice and/or they are worried about their baby hurting themselves once they start rolling around/pulling up in the crib.

This exactly. I had them on for the look when DD was born while she was still sleeping in bassinet in our room. Then took them off. This time around, I'm not bothering with a bedding set and buying sheets and crib skirt.

I think some people don't know of them dangers either.
I never got one bc they are IMO expensive for "just the look"

Are bumpers dangerous?
Researching that they are dangerous due to suffocation/smothering possibilities, I am definitely NOT going to place them in my crib. I have decided to go with breathable bumpers to help make sure the baby stays safe in the crib. You should definitely check them out!
