how did your LO drop their second nap?
I dont think my twins are anywhere near dropping their second nap but the past few days they had a messed up afternoon nap and they were totally fine, not cranky at all. We keep them on such a tight schedule (actually they keep it themselves ) so I wonder how this is going to happen.

Re: how did your LO drop their second nap?
I have twins as well and the transition to one nap was kind of brutal and happened around 17 months. DS was totally down for 1 nap while DD was all about sleeping all the time. Since their morning naps were crazy early (like 9 am) I had to push that back later and later and truncate the other nap. Now at just shy of 19 months we are on one nap and still working on getting a more consistent time.
Good luck, it is tough when each kid is ready at a different time!

We did it with daycare. We slowly moved so his nap would be noonish. He would get tired early in the day but we did the best we could to keep him up. Took a few weeks.

For DS 1 - his afternoon nap started getting shorter and shorter until it was non existent - we then pushed the morning nap back to mid day. This happened around 16-17 months.
For DS 2 - the 12-18 month old room at daycare only had one nap and he started in there part time at 10 months so he adjusted that way.

DS is in the process of this now at almost 16 months. He usually wakes up at 8am, naps at 11am and then again at 4pm. The last week or so he has been taking a long time to fall asleep and usually doesn't until 5pm and then I wake him up by 6pm. Since he's napping so late its also taking him a long time to fall asleep at night. It used to work for him, but now I think he's ready for one nap.
Today we went out at 11am and I put him down when we got home at 1pm. We was definitely cranky by 12 so I'm not sure if this will work everyday for him.

DD just dropped it herself around 12 months. She's 19 months now and takes a nap anywhere between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. She'll be out for an hour maybe 2.

Around 10 months DD started fighting her afternoon nap. I tried everything I could possibly think of to get her to sleep. It rarely worked and she was a wreck by the end of the day so eventually I gave up and slowly pushed her morning nap back to noon and eventually 1. She's almost 20 months and still naps at one for 2-3 hours.

Her afternoon nap started getting really short and her morning nap started going long. So instead of napping at 10:30 and again at 3, we started napping her at 1. It took a while and was a crappy transition. I will not lie. If i recall correctly we started pushing up her morning nap gradually.

Dd never used to nap for longer than 30 min so she always needed at least 2 or 3 naps throughout the day. But around 12 months she started to nap longer during her first nap. And once she got up to sleeping an hour or an hour and a half she started to be fine the rest of the day without a second nap. I think she finally takes a longer morning nap because she is so much more active now. However there are still some days where she wakes up after only 30 min, and those days I know she will need an afternoon nap too.

I started to notice that my dd was awake for longer in the morning and then slept longer during her nap. Its like she consolidated it herself. She went from 2 1 hour each naps (morn & late afternoon) to 1 2-2.5 hour nap late morning/early afternoon depending on her wake up time.
ETA: also noticed if she napped too late in the afternoon or I thought she needed a 2nd nap, then she would go to bed SUPER late. so I cut that immediately.

DD is 18 months, and we're still working on dropping it! She still seems to need 2 during the week, because I have her up and out earlier, but we are able to give her one on the weekends.
