High Blood Pressure and Working
I am 30 weeks and 5 days. My blood pressure has been really high since week 29. I was put on medication for it, and it is still high.
The dr tells me I need to relax and take it easy, but that is next to impossible at my job. I work for a company that does framed art and mirrors for hotels and right now we have one factory that handles the majority of our business and they keep screwing up.
This makes mad customers, mad sales reps, and mad supervisors. I can't keep up, and I tell my supervisor that my dr said I need to take it easy, and that my blood pressure is really high. I was out 4 days last pay period because of it. He doesn't seem to care/understand and just still loads me down with work and piles it on.
Does anyone have any tips or recommendations on how to handle this?

Not sure if you already do, but for me, exercise and a healthy diet work wonders! Also set aside some time for yourself to deep breathe and listen to your favorite music.

Re: High Blood Pressure and Working
take small breaks during the day - no calls, no email...just close your door and relax for 5-10 mins.
unfortunately, i had a co-worker that needed to take her leave early bc she had high blood pressure and her job was very stressful...but it was her job. she spoke to her supervisor and got no sympathy and was told if she cant manage then she should take time off early...and that is what she did. unpaid time off. it stinks and i felt so bad for her, but if there is no way for you to avoid the stress maybe that is an option?

I think that would be my last resort option.
For now I'm just going to try what you aid and take a few breaks during the day (by law i'm allowed 2 15 min breaks). Next week my boss is out so it should be an easier week. I'm also going to ask my Dr for notes for the days I missed, in case they try and screw me over come bonus time.
I'm still completing all my work. I think they would rather not have me take time off early, but if they dont lay off me they will have no choice.
My health and my baby come before this job.
