do you usually give the owner a gift or money/cash for the holidays?

I usually gave a nice gift to all of the workers plus a gift card but this year I am doing cash for the workers but not sure if I should give cash to the owner??
What do you ladies think?

I gave the owner a bottle of wine and a gift certificate to the nail salon we use (we go to the same one). I would think cash is ok though too.

Hmmm..thats a good question. I was going to give her $100 and her assistant$50, should I be giving a bit less since its in home?

Always. She watches my kids for 40+ hrs a week and treats them like her own.

I don't think so. That's about what I spent. It's really whatever you are comfortable with and can afford.

ETA...I would give her cash, but I know her. She is so generous with the kids she would spend it on them. My provider is going away for 2 weeks so I wanted her to pamper herself.

In my situation, the owner oversees everything and interacts with the kids but the workers are the ones that are 100% of the time with the kids that go there. They don't get paid much---I almost feel like I should be giving them more than I give her since she's the owner (makes a good living) and isn't always with the daycare kids.

ourhappysurprise2012: I def. think $50 is good for the workers.

This! My in-home daycare is small and its just the owner and an assistant. I am going to give them both the same amount ($100)because they equally care for my child.

I had a licensed group daycare in my home for years. I always got nice gifts, but more often than not people gave cash, some gave a weeks pay and many gave $100. The assistant I usually got the same amount but we equally cared for the children.

If the owner is not the primary caretaker, I'd give her less. And I'd never give the owner cash. Or the others either. I'd give the owner a gift, and the teacher + assistant a Visa gift card...same as cash, but to me looks nicer than giving cash.
