New baby, toddler Jealousy

DD turned 3 right before our second DD was born. Initially, we couldn't believe how smooth the transition was. Now, we are seeing some awful behavior, tantrums, anxiety. We are trying our best to give her the attention she needs and also stick to our guns for discipline.

She loves the baby, but she does not want anyone else but me to put her to bed, potty, brush teeth. She is really lashing out at DH and my mom. She's also been waking up super early and only wanting me Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon it's breaking my heart.

I am also just getting over my SECOND bout of Mastitis. feeding the baby takes a lot longer since I can't nurse the bad side yet. I think that is not helping matters.

When does it start to get easier? It is definitely a combo of terrible 3s and this major transition.

my kids had a great transition when the baby came but now he is moving and playing with their stuff and they have had a rough time. DS pulled a toy that the baby was standing at right out from under him and the baby smashed his face into the wood floorChat Icon

Can you start some type of sticker chart? If she has maybe 3 good days you can take her somewhere alone? maybe to get her nails done? I know my dd responds well to that.

Good luck!

My DD was born when my DS was 2 1/2. On top of that, we moved to our new house a few weeks before DD was born, and we had some big family issues with all 4 of DS's grandparents, so he wasn't able to visit with them as regularly as he had before.

It. Was. HORRIBLE.

DS had terrible tantrums, etc. the first month was incredibly hard...the next 6 months or so were rough...but then things really got better.

I did what I thought was best for DS...which was keeping things as normal as possible. I tried to make at least a little time every day for what we call Mommy Time. It could be as simple as snuggling up to read books, playing a game, or more exciting like going for ice cream or to the library.

And just lots of snuggles!

Chat Icon It will get soooo much easier!!!

Same Chat Icon Chat Icon I'm due in a little over 2 weeks and DD will turn 3 that week. She's already been acting out more, so I'm worried we'll be in the exact same boat for a bit.
