Re: Pain With Epidural
I had no pain once I got the epidural. I did have sensation though, I wasn't completely numb from the waist down. And I was able to feel pressure.

Pain With Epidural
Took away the pain from the contractions but it still hurt like he!! to push! They gave me more after the pushing while they stitched me up.

Pain With Epidural
I had an epi and I initially felt no pain. For some reason they turned it off on me when I was pushing and I felt a LOT of pain. After 36+ hours of no sleep, I just couldn't bear it. Part of me thinks maybe I could have pushed him out if they would have given me some pain relief but since DS was over 10 1/2lbs I guess I will never know!

I'm not sure what I will do yet, but I am thinking epidural might be best for me. I do not deal with pain very well.
GET IT! Get it early. Get it often. Savor it!

This will be my motto day of delivery. I find papercuts painful, so I'm not messing around hah.

Re: Pain With Epidural
I got the epidural at 4 cm. It provided great relief from the pain of the contractions until I got closer to the end, until like 7 or 8 cm. By then the pain returned even though I was getting more epidural. Delivery was very painful as well.
I definitely recommend getting the epidural! I would not have been able to go without.
