Hershey at Xmas

Has anyone been there at xmas time?
DH is a teacher and is off 2 weeks for xmas/new years and wants to go away for a weekend. Trying to think of places close by. We also will have DD who is almost 2.

We went last year and LOVED it! The weather was on our side as it wasn't terribly cold or rainy. We didn't stay in Hershey though...we stayed about 5 miles away. There is plenty to do. It gets more and more crowded as the day goes into night.

Last year and the year before we went with DS (4 now) the weekend before Thanksgiving. It was decorated for Christmas and there was Christmas light drive through. It was a lot of fun. SIL & her family have been doing this trip for a bunch of years so we went with them. They have a whole plan - they do Hershey World on Friday after they get there. There is a really nice Christmas trolly ride through town that was great for the kids. They are dressed up in Victorian style, sing carols and basically get a tour of the town and it's history.
Then Saturday they would do the park. A lot of rides aren't open but you can go see Santa and they have special things set up. It was apparently pretty cold this year and I don't know how much colder it will be now, but it was really a nice trip. Hoping to go again next year but didn't this year b/c DS#1 made us nuts last year and with the new baby I just couldn't.

We are going this weekend. I will let you know. It appears that the weather won't be on our side so we will see how it goes. My kids are 4 and 2.

We booked 2 nights after Christmas at Eden Resorts in Lancaster - we want to give the kids some fun in the indoor pool. We have plans to travel to Hershey Chocolate world, the drive thru lights or trolley ride and the kids museum Hands on House I think it's called. We have never taken a Winter time vacation before so I'm hoping for tolerable weather.
