Crayon grasp in 2.5 yr old

Crayon grasp in 2.5 yr old
Is it still developmentally appropriate for a 2.5 to hold a crayon with his whole fist? Sometimes Ill see him using a grasp that looks close to a 3 finger grasp, but most of the time he just grabs the whole crayon and goes to town. He's not too huge on coloring and never has been.

Not sure if it is developmentally appropriate or not but my DS is 2.5 yr old still holds it with whole fist and once awhile will do the 3 finger grasp as well. My DS is not big into coloring either.
