Due in 27 days and still conflicted about double stroller

DD will be 3 the first week of Jan (prob the same week this baby will be born--due 12/30). She is usually anti-stroller. For most stores, she walks and is pretty good about it. I basically have to strap her in against her will for longer shopping trips and street fairs. She basically walked all of Hershey Park over the summer, until she was exhausted at the end of the day, because she was adamant about not being in a stroller.

So do I bother with a double? I feel like there will be times I'll need it, like when she's tired or it's just not safe for her to be walking. I was going to get the City Select with second seat (currently have City Mini), but I'm hesitant about spending all that money if she's not going to sit in it.

Thoughts?

ds1 was 3y3m when his brother was born. We never did a double. 2.5y later I have never needed one.

My DDs are three years apart....I bought the city select.

She wants to sit with her sister....she hadn't used a stroller in months. They have a good resale value and since I didn't need any baby items I figured I would splurge on stroller.

I would wait and see. Maybe keep your eye out for a used one on Craig's list. I mostly take the snap n go out to stores and let the twins walk or use a cart an a carrier.

I do have a triple stroller for walks/runs though.

I never bought one. I just purchased stroller connectors to connect two umbrella strollers whenever I needed it.

My kids are 3 yrs apart (bday same month) and we use the double daily, but my 3 yr old likes it and is active so i like him in their when shopping etc. for you, I wouldnt bother since your daughter hates it and is fine walking

My girls are 20 mos apart and I didn't buy a double because my older one just didn't like the stroller. I did have a Sit & Stand which I probably used 10 times, if that, for walks around the neighborhood.

My kids are 3 years apart too. You won't be able to devote 100% of your attention on your DD once your baby is born. For me it was just safer to have her strapped into something so if I needed to get something for the baby, she was safe.

I opted for the sit and stand though. SHe can hop in and out of it if needed and it was a lot less bulky then the double

I needed the double because I couldnt go anywhere by myself. My 3 year old is active and doesnt like to listen in stores whn walking. Its just easier to shop with her strapped down.

I wouldn't. Worst case you can put the older one in the stroller and wear your younger one.

My son is 4 yrs old and still is a stroller kid for places like the mall and Kohls, and certainly at Hershey park this past summer.

He was 3.5 when my DD was born. I bought a double stroller months before I was due, because it was a great stroller and on sale. My DD is now 10 mos old, and I can honestly say I used the double stroller exactly 1 time.

The weight difference between the two kids made the stroller very difficult to push. Although the double could accommodate the infant seat, I didn't have the correct attachments for the seat to sit safely on the stroller.

My DD is now 10 mos old, and I've really never needed a double stroller. I almost never go out with both kids alone, and when I take my son to school, I carry my DD in my arms. When we go out on the weekends, my DH pushes my son in the shopping cart, and I push my DD in her stroller. When we want to put my son in a stroller, my DH pushes him in the MacClaren and I push my DD in the City Mini.

My DH can NOT wait for me to bite the bullet and agree to sell our double stroller on Craig's list.

DS was 3 when DD1 was born. We bought a double stroller and used it only one time. We ended up selling it.
