Getting vomit out of car seat

my dd projectile vomited all over herself and worse her car seat. It got EVERYWHERE. I have cleaned the seat cover, I had to scrub all the straps, I had to scrub every inch of it. I have since MANY times sprayed with baby ganics nursery refresher and then just sucked it up and sprayed febreeze. The febreeze has worked much better BUT theres still a hint of vomit smell.
HOW DO I GET IT OUT?! Ive scrubbed the straps like 2-3 times and it still smells like vomit.

What cleaners do you recommend? I used dreft and baby ganics. Maybe I need something stronger I just don't want to overdo it with heavy toxic smells.

I've tried hand washing to the straps, wasn't working so well, I just threw them in the washing machine.

Ugh - this is the worst. Taking the cover off & tossing it in the washer was a must. I also took the carseat out of the car & cleaned every nook & cranny. It got in spots you wouldn't even suspect. The straps had to be scrubbed with a brush because it managed to get in every little spot.
Windows open, Frebeeze in car...you name it.

Upholstery cleaner too for the floors. I made the mistake of using this baking soda powder that you vacuum up, turns out DS was allergic to it & ended up with a trip to the ER because it caused a reaction with his breathing.

They actually don't recommend washing the straps - soaking or in the washing machine b/c the fibers can break down, making them unsafe. I think you may be able to call the manufacturer and get new straps.

I know that some, if not all, car seats need to be replaced entirely if the straps are removed.

Re: Getting vomit out of car seat

soap (like dawn) and hot HOT water and letting it soak... and then air drying outside. Crack the windows in your car too, the smell might be trapped in there too.
