where did you buy your advent calendar?
If you want a cheapie until you find one you really like , target had them in that cheap section. I just got one for $3. It's all felt material.

we have a wooden musical one by Byer's Choice. we got it in a local store during christmas time last year but you can get them online. looks something like this.

Not sure how old your DC is but we just got the Lego Friends advent calendar. It's awesome for kids who are a bit older. My DD is loving making a new lego object daily.

I bought a cheapie, old school chocolate cardboard one with nativity scene at our local drugstore for $3.

I bought one from the CP Toys catalog. It's a wooden Christmas tree on a stand. There are little drawers with an ornament for each day. So far my almost 2 yr old DD loves it.

I bought a nativity advent calendar a few years ago. I got it on amazon but I remember seeing very similar ones in different catalogs (I think there is Vermont something or other catalog I get).
