painful rash
Anyone else get a painful rash on their body. I am in my 3rd trimester, and have been so itchy, thought it was dry skin. Today i woke up with a rash, some of it looks like prickly heat and some looks just very red. It is very painful, loike a sunburn

Ask your doctor about it tomorrow! My friend had this and she ended up with something and had to deliver early and be induced. I can find out exactly what if you want. I know the painful itchy rash started off her concern.

K. She was speedy. It was with her second pregnancy. She was really itchy and it was painful bc she would want to scratch her skin off. It ended up being colistasis (bile in her blood) and had to be induced and deliver early.
I'm sure it's fine and I'm obviously not a dr. Glad you are going in tomorrow morning. I'm sure it's nothing but you will talk to the dr

I don't think pupp is painful. Sounds like shingles :(. Where is the rash?

Could it be pupps?
My friend just asked me why I asked her about it and I told her. She also said it could be pups. That it happens in the third trimester and is super painful

It sounds like PUPPPs.... When i had it when it was painful and very itchy. One of the signs is it shows up in your stretch marks - if u have any. Sarna - a cream - helped ease the itch for me...good luck!!

Re: painful rash
I had PUPPS and it is painful. I was in misery for the end of the pregnancy because of it. Small bumps started showing up on my stomach in my stretch marks and it was EXTREMELY itchy. It started on my stomach and moved to my legs, around behind my knees and my arms and hands. I just wanted to rip my skin off.
I would take oatmeal baths (aveeno sells a product) but the relief was temporary. i was given a prescription strength cream but i only applied it once. Even though the dermatologist said it was ok, i would have had to apply so much because the rash was all over. I took a few doses of benadryl. Applying ice on the rash helped a bit. When I couldnt sleep at night I would wake up and eat a frozen ice and apply ice to the itchiest areas which were behind my knees.
I did end up going to the labor and delivery when it first appeared because it was over the weekend so that they could rule out colistasis (sp?).
Good luck. I heard pine tar soap helps. I couldn't find it when it happened to me, but I know Fairway carries pine tar soap.
