son refuses medication help
Almost two year old hates pink amoxicillen ...Dr and pharmacy keeps insisting 'best tasting one' I tried putting it in milk, juice, and straight he either refuses or spits it out or doesn't finish drink. I tried using pictures and using strawberry milk to show him how I take it and tried bribing him with donut ..nothing working! Dr says he can give me a chewable that will have flavor too though that I can desolve in juice ...but he wasn't sure that would work...
what I don't get is he takes his nasty smelling vitamin in juice no problem daily ..
I held him down and gave tiny drops at a time in cheek and he still spits it out help!

Do you have the syringe that can just shoot it into the side of his mouth toward the back? Maybe try breaking it up into 2 quick shots like that?
Also, maybe try something else as bribery... My DD will do ANYTHING for the promise of M&Ms....
Otherwise, i'd just keep holding him down best you can and forcing him to take it...
ETa: did the pharmacy flavor it for you? CVS def can add flavoring to all liquids.

I've used the blowing in the face trick too. We have to hold her down, it's horrible and like torture, but it's worked for us.

Does he use a pacifier? I have to squirt medicine in dd's mouth then almost at the same time, shove in her pacifier. It 1) gets her to open her mouth and 2) forces her to swallow. I usually have to do this 2-3x for one syringe dose.

We hold her and squirt in the side of her mouth with a syringe and then tickle her throat so she swallows it..it's been getting better because she realizes it's happening...
