8 week old questions
My baby is turning 2 months this week. Im wondering if you had a routine by this time. Right now he is being fed 4 ozs every 3 hrs and usually will go one 6 hr stretch at night. Inhave friends telling me that he should be going every 4 hrs between bottles and sleeping 7 or 8 hrs at night. Should i start to push his bottles back? Also when he is up we play with him in my lap or in his floor matt gym. Any oter ideas for play? Tia!!

every baby is different and every mom will have a different opinion on what they did and they will say they did it right. follow your sons cues...if he seems hungry after 3 hours - feed him. youll notice when its time to extend the feedings bc he wont be as hungry when you show him the bottle. i also think its great that youre getting 6 hour stretches at this point.
when dd was 8 weeks, she was eating every 3 hours and she was sleeping maybe 4-5 hour stretches at night.
follow your sons lead - at this point he is too young to stress over a routine

Ignore everyone. Let them raise their own babies. If he's hungry feed him. Tired offer a nap.

I don't recall how long she was sleeing at night but my daughter didn't go to 4 hour stretches until she was older. All babys are different!

Ignore what everyone elses baby did or does. No two are the same. Just go with what your baby is telling you.

Re: 8 week old questions
My DD was probably sleeping about 8-9 hours at night around 8 weeks, but I don't think she is the norm. However, she is 6 months and still eats every 3 hours , do I think you are just fine!

I would've been jumping up & down with joy if ds slept 6 hours at that age. I wouldn't listen to what anyone else says. Every baby is different.

Re: 8 week old questions
Totally normal! I felt the same way you did. DD will be 3m on Friday and she still really doesn't have a routine. Sometimes she goes 4 hours without eating, sometimes 2. Sometimes she sleeps most of the day away, sometimes she wants to play and look around for hours. I say as long as my baby is happy, I am happy.

Re: 8 week old questions
Please my DD didn't have a "routine" until after a year old. And to be honest- she still really doesn't have a routine at 3. And as far as sleeping through the night- not until past 6 months. Don't listen to what other people say they "should" be doing. At 8 weeks my DD was up every 2 hours round the clock!

ITA.
DS is almost 10 months old now and he fell into his own routine. Though some days he doesn't have a routine at all! I like to follow his cues. I'm not hungry every day at the same exact time and I don't expect DS to be either.
Babies will consolidate night sleep when they are ready. Some do it at 2 months. Most start around 3 months. Some won't do it until 2 years! I think a 5 hour stretch at 2 months is amazing. Once the baby is around 6 months, if he isn't sttn, you can start helping him out. But for now, he's really young so just be patient.
