Re: Making a Photobook on Shutterfly
I tried once, got about halfway through and gave up lol. I think (or at least hope) the fact that I need a new computer made things much worse. I found that it took forever to upload pics and I kept losing them once I did. That isn't even touching on the aspect of picking out which pics to use!

Re: Making a Photobook on Shutterfly
Id di it once - took my 3 months to finish, but it was well worth it with the final product!
I'm working on a new one now and I'm so behind! It's for last year!

Making a Photobook on Shutterfly
I'm currently working on a book for dd's first year. I'd like to do one for every year. We'll see how that goes.

Re: Making a Photobook on Shutterfly
I've done a bunch for myself and my parents. Once you do it the first time, it's pretty easy and fun to choose different themes, page layouts, etc.

See that's the way to do it! For her 2nd year I am going to start now and go month by month. It is so overwhelming trying to do an entire year at once!

I've done a bunch and like a PP said, it gets easier as you get used to it. They have an option where it will place the pics for you but I find that ends up being more work because I have to move everything around.

Re: Making a Photobook on Shutterfly
I made one for my wedding and one for my honeymoon. Hard work but they came out amazing.
So then I attempted to do DD's first year The hardest thing was taking 10,000+ photos and narrowing it down to 1,000 (max for the book). I still have to delete 300 more but at least I got rid of more than 8,750 photos!
Then designing it... I end up getting so OCD over it. I over think every placement, background, layout, etc.
But I know I will love it if I put the work into it now. It's taken me months already and I'm only up to her 4th month!!

Making a Photobook on Shutterfly
I did this and had to do the entire year and it was a lot of work. It truly took me MONTHS to really commit to doing it a lil every night and then I just crammed it all in over a week of every free moment I had I was working on the book. It ended up coming out gorgeous and Im soooo happy I did it. And now my dd is 16.5 months Im going to just add slowly so I can do one every year and not try to cram it all in the last minute.
I say while I know its time consuming the end product is totally worth it! I used shutterfly and was REALLY happy with the quality.

I can do a big one in about a week and just did a smaller one (love the free coupons from Target) in about 2 days. I like doing it but you do blink and suddenly realize 4 hours have passed!

I have to do one this weekend. My biggest problem is narrowing down the photos but I love when they are done.

Re: Making a Photobook on Shutterfly
I make one for DS every year. This is the third year I will be making one. I actually need to get on it. It usually takes me 3 FULL days to do, and I make big books, eg 90 pages.
It takes a long time and is tedious but I LOVE my books and I love that I have made them.

Re: Making a Photobook on Shutterfly
I made my mom one of DD's first year for Mother's Day, and just made her one of our family cruise for Chanukah. The first one I did less customizing, and this one I did a little more. They are very time-consuming, but go smoother the more time you spend on it. You get used to the user interface and it gets less confusing. I still haven't ordered a book for us of DD's first year, and she's 17 months now!

Re: Making a Photobook on Shutterfly
DD is 9 months and I do one for her each month and write a letter to her in it. They are time consuming but the more you do the easier it gets. My problem is I take so many pictures it's overwhelming, lol
