2nd time moms, what do ask the Dr at your appointments?
This may be a silly question, but my Dr always asks if I have questions, and I love that he wants to take time to answer questions, but so far this pregnancy, I've had none. I've requested him to do my c-section (I go to a large practice but I've been seeing the same Dr most of the time), so I'd like to build my relationship with him, but I always feel like I have nothing to say.
I need some good questions!
TIA!

If you don't have any questions about the actual birth, maybe ask him about some things you can do to keep healthy during the pregnancy... like what to eat/what not to eat, what kind of excercise is good, what the best vitamins are, etc. Even if you already know the answers (or remember from last time) it can't hurt to ask again. Maybe he'll make a suggestion that you hadn't thought of!

I don't try to come up with questions just for the sake of asking. If I have a questions I ask, if not I don't.
There are still plenty of things to discuss at each visit. In the first and second tri there isn't much going on. Now that I'm almost at the end I have tons of questions about internals, recovery from a 2nd c-section, results from recent bloodwork, etc.

Thanks!
I was wondering if its too early to start asking about the actual c-section and stuff like that, since I'm only 24 weeks.

Re: 2nd time moms, what do ask the Dr at your appointments?
Since I am having a repeat C-section, I asked my Dr, how and if the anesthesiology will be different this time around. My first time I didn't get an epidural, just a spinal block so nothing was left there for pain management. A friend of mine said she had a spinal block and an epidural and the epidural was removed 48 hours after the C-section. I just wanted a better understanding of what to expect with respect to that.
Last time I had prescription prenatals, this time he didn't prescribe so I confirmed that over the counter were ok.
I got sick this time with a fever and I had really bad sciatica so I asked him how much Tylenol he would recommend was safe (meaning how often).
In the event that he isn't the one doing the procedure (my dr is actually on vacation the week before I am due) I asked who would be covering for him.
I couldn't remember what week the glucose test was, so I confirmed with him.
I just took it visit by visit, and if I didn't have any questions, I just didn't.

Unless something comes up, the only questions I ask are things that I don't remember from last time (when glucose test is done, when will my appointments become more frequest, etc.)

This. I really don't have a lot of questions this time around, but occasionally I forget something from last time.

Great anesthesia question!!! I've been wondering this and forgot!!! I want to be up and moving ASAP, so I want something that will wear off quickly, and I'll just take oral meds for the pain (which my 1st time around wasn't bad at all).
