Guest question
Is your home always ready for company. I mean if a neighbor rang the bell would you be mortified to invite them in or is it no problem.
DH and I both work FT and DS tears up our small apartment. Papers seem to pile up as quickly as I clean up and I am always so embarrassed when people come in. I wish I was a neat freak.

Re: Guest question
90% of the time my house is presentable. lately, it's been chaotic here and I wish no one in my house, but yes normally, it would be fine for anyone to come in.

Re: Guest question
I wish it was always neat. We moved into this apt in May and it is so rare that it is uncluttered. I still haven't found a good "system." And we've had more guests than we anticipated so I have to do a major clean up every time! I better figure out a system soon!

Re: Guest question
only on friday night and saturday- after the cleaning lady comes- I try- but even though I am home- I still don't have time to clean every day
plus I am paying some to do it- so I try to stop myself from cleaning- b/c that's the cleaning lady's job

Re: Guest question
Always.
Guests could show up unexpected and spend the night. Guest room even has a bathroom basket filled with lotions, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, disposable razor, lufah, bath beads, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc....
I am so anal about the cleaning. My garage isnt even a mess.
Ya never know when someone may just be in the neighborhood

Re: Guest question
My home is always in order. I'm not bragging, it's just the way I am. If I am out, when I walk back in the door I can tell immediately if something is out of place. The only time my home is messy is if I am not feeling well. I chalk it up to being of German heritage; my husband chalks it up to me being anal.

Re: Guest question
It's always presentable to not get embarrassed, but usually I would like it to be cleaner.

Re: Guest question
living room and dining room are pretty much always presentable, bedroom is iffy, bed is never made. Kitchen is hit or miss, its either spotless or there is piles of stuff waiting to get put away.

Re: Guest question
For the most part yes. If I happen to not make the bed I close the door (they dont need to go in my room). I also try to do a quick walk through to make sure everything is in order which I do in about 10 minutes.

Re: Guest question
My home is tidy 95% of the time. I would want to run a Swiffer around the place before someone came over - especially with a heavy shedding cat (and me ). Otherwise, the bed is made as soon as I get out of it (I leave after my DH) and everything is usually "straightened" - save for the few dishes in the sink now.
