Breast milk with formula
Does anyone supplement their breast milk with formula? Does the baby notice or have a preference? Sorry if this is a silly question!

I do it occasionally, since the breastmilk is so thin, I sometimes mix in an ounce or two of formula into his last bottle of the night so he won't get hungry so fast & can sleep longer overnight. He's never seemed to notice or mind it!

Breast milk with formula
My sister does since it lets her DH take care of one of the night/early morning feedings. If someone else wants to feed her during the day and she does not have anything pumped then she will also give her a bottle.
My sister said my niece prefers breastmilk, but will take the formula.

Breast milk with formula
i did with DD and never had problems
we used enfamil newborn and she had no trouble going between that and breast milk
there were times that i pumped and didnt have enough for her so i just added an ounce or two of formula to the breast milk bottle, and there are times that we just gave her a bottle of formula alone.
thankfully she just seemed to like her bottle regardless of what was in it

I started supplementing at a month old. Dd didn't know the difference but she's a great eater.

I did it with DS. I BF while at home but while I worked I had DH give him formula. He didnt have any issues with it.

i had to in the beginning b/c my milk wasn't in yet, and we were having latch issues, so i used formula but once my milk came in i pumped until she learned to latch and now no supplementation for over a month. my dd didn't seem to care but she was so tiny, and was hungry i don't think it mattered.
