Newborn photographers (a different question, i promise)

I know I'm very early, but to pass the time before my first appointment I've started looking into newborn photographers.

I've looked at a lot of the popular ones, and have started to email a few.

The thing is, I feel like I want something a bit different from the "typical" newborn photographer. I would like a few typical shots, but with minimal props. Other than that, I'd like the shoot to document our new life as a family of three. I'd like to include our dog. I want images where we're cuddled up on the couch, snuggled up together.

My budget is about $500 or less, which I know isn't that much. That being said, we paid less for our wedding photos than a lot of the newborn photographers charge (and they were incredible photographs).

Any suggestions? A lot of the photographers I email won't even do something like this.

You want a "lifestyle" session. Try Jennifer Wilbur, Shira Z, to name a few.

ETA: I think Jen Lightful does lifestyle newborn sessions also. We did a session with her when our girls were about 6.5 mo.

Try Angel Project Photography in Manhassett. He has a very unique style to newborn/ family photography. Not sure about pricing.
