I feel like I have a million questions
When do you find out the sex of the baby? And when do most doctors do sonograms?

You generally find out the baby's sex at the anatomy scan which is usually preformed between 18-22 weeks. You can find out the gender earlier if you have the MaterniT21 test or chorionic villus sampling done. As for when doctors do ultrasounds it seems like most ladies get one at their first visit around eight weeks then a second around 12 weeks (NT scan)-in test second trimester you have the anatomy scan. After that you may have a growth ultrasound in the late third trimester. If you are high risk or have any health issues you may get more frequent ultrasounds.

The # of sonos depends on the practice and whether or not you're high risk.
I had sonos so far at 7w (initial), 13w (NT scan), 17w (early anatomy scan), 20w (anatomy scan). I am considered high risk and I will also have one on Tuesday at 22w5d (fetal echo). After that I'm not sure but b/c I have GD, I will probably have several growth sonos.
At my early anatomy scan, the baby did not have it's legs open so they couldn't tell the gender. They were able to determine gender at my anatomy scan.

My practice does an initial (7-8 weeks), NT Scan (12 weeks), and anatomry scan (20 weeks). If there are issues, you will have additional scans.
