FTM Question for BTDT Moms

Any tips or suggestions on things you had (or wish you had) at home after having the baby? Please feel free to add recommendations for things for the hospital, but I think I have a good handle on that. Just trying to stock up on anything I might not have thought of! :)

Re: FTM Question for BTDT Moms

i love the aiden and anais blankets - the big ones to swaddle DD in (or to cover the stroller if we went out) and also the little lovies (she didnt use them when she was first born but a few weeks later she liked to grab onto them)

since she loved being swaddled, the halo swaddle sacks were great for us

a white noise machine

i wish we had pacifiers and gripe water...DH had to make a late night run to the store to get that for us one of the first nights home

Re: FTM Question for BTDT Moms

For you- dermoplast, prep h, laxatives, epsom salts, motrin

For baby- gas drops as pp mentioned, lots of hand soap/sanitizer for visitors

Also, some silly advice... if you plan to breast feed don't sit down and get started until you have 1) a bottle of water 2) a snack 3) your (charged) phone 4) the remote control. I would always forget one of the above and then would fixate on it for the next 40 minutes as DD took her sweet time to eat Chat Icon

Re: FTM Question for BTDT Moms

Lots of pj's and sleep n plays for the baby. We were surprised by how many outfits DD peed and pooped through. IMO, don't waste your time with a lot of cutesy elaborate outfits in newborn or 0-3 mo sizes. They don't get much use in the beginning.

We used the wubba nub pacifiers and loved them.
