1st birthday opinion
DS will be one in March. For the twins we did a party at home but since then alot of my friends have had more kids. I think it would be just too crazy to have at home.
Would it be strange to have a 1st bday party at a place like little gym, gymboree etc? I would have kids ranging from 9 months to 5. Do pizza/cake there and if anyone wants to come back to my house for apps/drinks after they can.
I would also have my parents/grandparents over on his real birthday to celebrate.
ETA: Where do you recommend to have a party for that age range??

That sounds totally normal and not strange at all. It makes it easier for you and you have the best of both worlds, a way to entertain the other kids and a way for close family to celebrate at the house.

Re: 1st birthday opinion
I think it would be good. My cousin had her son's first birthday at the little gym & when I got the invite, I thought 1 was a little young for something like that but it wound up being great. My DD was only 6 months at the time & it was still fun! The staff really great & attentive to all ages to make it fun.

1st birthday opinion
The only issue I had when I went to a 1st b day at one of the gyms...when there are older kids you have to really watch the younger ones cause the older ones are running all over and knocking the little ones over. I would try and keep the ages closer if possible.

Re: 1st birthday opinion
Just wanted to bump this post because I need ideas too! My DD is going to be 1 in March also and I'm having a hard time deciding on where to have it. My DS is in June so we can do it at the house in the backyard, but March would probably be too cold!

March baby here too. I'm so indecisive. Little Gym sounds like a great idea. I still have too many people who would come back to my house to celebrate, and we can't swing a big restaurant party
