Dinnertime woes
Does your child eat what you eat for dinner? I feel like it I don't give DS (who is 3.5) either peanut and jelly or chicken nuggets, he refuses to eat!
Ugh!

Dinnertime woes
DS is 27 months and is sooo picky. He hardly eats daycare lunch so when it's time for dinner I feel bad and make what I know he likes. But that's so against what the ped says. I can't just make something and if he doesn't touch it let him go to bed without eating. I'm weak and probably the reason why he is still so picky.

Yep! Sometimes that means not eating dinner at all and sometimes it means we don't eat some of our favorite meals very often, because she doesn't like them. But IMO it's important to teach her that she can't just eat not-so-nutritious foods because she causes a fuss.
Tonight I made a new recipe for dinner. She looked at it and decided she didn't like it. I think I got her to eat about 4 bites. Oh well, we'll do better tomorrow.
If we're having something for dinner that I know she doesn't like, I will sometimes give her an alternative, but that almost never happens. I can't expect her to like everything, but I refuse to raise a child who will only eat one or two things.
I am more likely to give her lunches that are definite winners, though, because during the week she eats at school and I don't want it to be an issue. But she will get leftovers from dinner if she likes what we had the night before, or soup most days and PB&J once a week max.
She's also 3.

I agree! My twins were difficult around 2. I kept offering what we were eating for dinner and didn't give them something different. Around 2.5 they got much better. They eat most of what we eat or at the very least try but I never make them something different unless Dh and I want to have dinner alone. Keep with it. No "snack" after dinner if they don't eat.

Re: Dinnertime woes
DS turns 3 really soon. He eats what we eat for dinners. Or I at least make him have some of it before I get him something else. I don't expect him to like everything we eat BUT if I do get him something else, it's not cooking....it's a yogurt, fruit, etc. something that doesn't involve any extra work for me.
