what happens when you and RE are on different pages?
So my first IVF ended in chemical. i actually got my period and bled through crinone. Then because of my blood type had to rush to the DR after 4 days of bleeding to receive a rogham shot. Now i called on a tueday explaining i was bleeding, they of course said its normal probably implantation etc etc. i went in on thurs for blood work get a call its positibve but beta of 9. That was it, told me to come back monday for blood hoping its 2 or below. then out of nowhere they call me like crazy friday morning had to leave work to go get this shot. So last night went for my whats next consult. Have the option of medicated or non FET. we have three blasts. my IVF they only transeerred one AB blast. I ovualte on my own and get my period every month. i am leaning towards medicated to basically have more control over things. First question what do you reccomend, any exprriences with one over the other? Second, i felt strongly about transferring two on my ivf cycle they only did one. Now i asked Dr scholl last night and he still insists they are only transferring one. I am a little upset and confuased now. God forbid this doesnt work my next step would be wait til the new year and schedule an appt with Kofinas who my friends rave about. I was also considering switching now but i feel like it might be too mcuh esp with havig to get all my records released and transferrin the embryos to a diff practice. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

his only reasoning was that the rsik of multiples is high. He feels i am still young and pregnancy with multiples can be difficult and ppl dont realize the risks. that was his exact answer. idkkk

my Dr was of the same mind set. said for healthy young women they try to do only 1 to minimize risk.
either way, I personally at this point would go to a different practice. this is supposed to be your 3rd IVF right?

well i did three IUI's and nothing. first Ivf got all the way to transfer and apparently they didnt catch an urinary tract infection my hubby had and all my emryos were infected so cancelled. Now this was my first full cycle and it failed. this will be my first FET. I just dont know where to even start if i were to switch practices.

Hearing that, I'd def find a new RE. Many times the husband is on an antibiotic prior to IVF to ensure that there is no infection.
I can understand an RE wanting to reduce the chance of multiples, but that should be your decision, not his. IVF is expensive and takes a physical and emotional toll on the couple. I would cut my losses and find a new RE who will be more aligned with you.

thats the thing he was on antibiotics and with all the semen anaylsis that was done this wasnt caught. which annoyed me. they waited until the day of the transfer and brought me in and told me they couldnt perform the tansfer.
with all this being said has anyone switched RE's with frozen embryos at one office to another?

I don't really have much advice to offer, but wanted to say that if you are unhappy or uncomfortable with proceeding with your current office, then maybe go for a consultation at another RE- sometimes a fresh pair of eyes makes a world of difference.
Good luck

I def would seek another opinion. I also transferred one hatching AA blast because they said I was young and the embryo looked great. That resulted in a bfn I said for my fet I would transfer 2 no matter what and they agreed. My RE said it was up to me what I wanted. We got pregnant with a singleton. If your unhappy move on. You need to find a facility that lîstens to you. You can transfer your frozen to another facility with coordination. Good luck!!!

How young is young? I'm 32 and I transferred 2 for both IVFs. My RE recommends 1 in my age group and with my unexplained diagnosis. I told him I wanted to transfer 2. He said he would do 2 if I requested it. So we did 2. BFN first time. 2nd time chemical. Now on to FET next cycle. I have 2 and will transfer 2 again. I would tell your RE that you and DH spoke and you ARE transferring 2. When I told my RE DH and I were set on transferring 2 he said fine. If he doesn't agree get another opinion.

Re: what happens when you and RE are on different pages?
I am 32 as well, i will 33 in Janurary. Thats what i dont get, its my body my money. I understand if there were issues or what not. they have not diagnosed me with a single issue. Grant it multiples would be hard but we could manage. but i cant keep living knowing what if. Grant it they might not all make the thaw and i am not spedning almost 3000 to transfer one and god forbid it doesnt work do it again. ugh. I have had mixed opinions some say dr knows best some say its your ultimate decision. this is not like its my first time btw iui and ivf. thanks for your responses.
