Micro IVF vs. Standard IVF
What is the difference? After doing some research, I know that micro ivf uses less medications, therefore you have the chance of having fewer embryos, but do you use the same medication you would use if you were going through a standard ivf cycle? On average, how many eggs are retrieved through micro, and is the process the same (BC for a few weeks, stimming for a few days, retrieval and transfer)?
I am seriously considering doing this since the cost is much much lower than a standard cycle. I am already on the wait list for the IVF grant at my current RE, but I am hesitate about continuing with them, and feel a fresh pair of eyes to review my file would be beneficial, so I am making an appt with LI IVF to meet with a dr who specializes in this area, but any information from you ladies would be great!

Re: Micro IVF vs. Standard IVF
I did Micro. I was on Clomid for 5 days then Gonal F 75i for 5 days. Blood and Sono everyday after the Clomid. I started with 14 eggs by the time i was done with everything only 4 matured. 4 was retrieved, 3 fertilized and 3 days after the retrieval 3 were transferred back. There is no blood before your 2ww. For us we has no IVF insurance so with everything and because we had nothing to freeze the total oop was 6K ish, if we had to freeze it would have been closer to 8K. The oop for meds was around $700 ( my RE gave us the Gonal F because ppl had donated and it was not covered). Hope this information helps.
