Toddler bed from Santa?

DS is due in march, so we want to move DD to a toddler bed before then, probably in January. I'm debating on having the toddler bed as an additional present under the tree. DD totally understands Santa and is excited this year for Christmas. She's 2 1/2.

I'm afraid that if the transition to the bed doesn't go well, saying its from Santa will give her a negative association.

On the other hand, I wonder if saying Santa must think she's really a big girl now since he brought this big girl bed might encourage her to use it.

Thoughts?

I would separate it.
DS is almost 3.5 and not ready for a toddler bed.
Our kids are 1.5 yrs apart: we have 2 cribs. The second was from Ikea (super cheap and works great!).

I also give one gift each kid from Santa (Toys only).

Toddler bed from Santa?

I wouldn't associate them.

Dd was due in January and DS was 27 months. I knew she was going to be in our room in the bassinet for a bit so I waited until after she was born. One day we went to the store got the bed and let DS pick out the bedding set he wanted.

We went home and I took apart tge crib, set up the bed, put the new set on it (and a gate at his door) and he went to sleep no problem that night (with the exception of sliding/ rolling off the bed once or twice.

Re: Toddler bed from Santa?

I started pumping up my ds for getting a big boy bed for his new big boy room almost immediately once I knew I was pregnant. I got him so excited that he couldn't wait to get a big boy bed. Start now talking to your dd about how big she's getting and that its going to be time to get a big girl bed. Say nothing about the baby just the fact shes getting big and this is the next stage. If she's excited about it by Christmas then I see nothing wrong with getting it for Christmas but maybe make it from you and your dh not santa.
