Oh hello AF
Like clockwork. 3 days after the phone call, she's here.. Grrr. Taking this month off to get some stuff in order.
* even though dr. Trivax doesn't think I need it, I'm going ahead with HSG test. Wanna know if my only tube is clear. I'm scared though. It will be this week since they do between cycle day 7 and 11.
* made an appt with dr. Hershlag at NS but may cancel since he's out of network with my insurance. I may just keep appt just for second opinion. It's not till nov 18 though.
Debating on second opinion with LIIVF Dr. Kreiner *
Requested records to be release to me in meantime- takes 2 weeks.
Not sure what else I could do during this month off. Ami missing anything??

Re: Oh hello AF
Did he ever do an endometrial biopsy?
I agree with the hsg... Not only can it diagnose tubal issues but it can detect scar tissue, polyps and abnormalities that can inhibit implantation. Before I left RS, I consulted with Sung and we brainstormed about my recurrent miscarriages/lack of implantation. She ordered full loss blood work but also stressed the endometrial biopsy to check my lining for abnormal cells. I left before I could do it but I think it is something to consider, just to rule out anything, KWIM?

Oh hello AF
Trivax said he doesn't feel I need an endometrial biopsy but that he was going to proactively treat me for any inflammation I may have by putting me on cipro and now adding prednisone. I may just do the hsg for now and see what happens. My poor vajayjay can only take so much. Ha!

Did you decide want you're doing with RE?

Oh hello AF
I think doing the HSG is a good idea. My insurance requires I do it before IVF but I did it before IUI too. I think its really smart to get a 2nd opinion. Enjoy your break. I'm sure it will be nice to be off meds!

I was almost positive I was going to stick it out with the new RE and told DH and said absolutely not and wants me to stay with RS. He didn't think that office treated us well. Decisions! Still keeping my SIRM appt in Dec just in case! Get your appt reserved there if you are interested lol

I was told I need the biopsy and water Sono before I can be approved for IVF. Already did the hsg. Maybe these tests will give you insight!

Oh hello AF
How do your embryos look at the day of the transfer? Are you doing 3 or 5 day transfers?

Yes you're missing the break! Emotionally and physically. Even on this time off youre doing tests, consultations, etc. I really think you should take a month off and do nothing related to ivf, infertility, babies, etc. when my first ivf failed we went to France. We had the trip planned already and I was hoping to be pregnant during it and not get to enjoy the wine and cheese. We'll it was exactly what I needed. Such a huge huge distraction. I didn't even think about what I had gone through and what I was continuing to go through.

They were 7 cell B embryos. Better then last time. Past two times were 3 day. This time he wants to push to 5 day. I never had many embryos so that's why we never did 5 day yet but he said at this point lets try.

Makes sense. I admire your attitude. I was the same way. Threw myself a pity party for a day. Let myself cry and then it only made me more determined. Enjoy pr!!!!! Enjoy your last time drinking for the next year :)

We have done 2 - 5 day transfers and 1 - 3 day transfer. After doing quite a bit of research, the 5 day really does give you the "best" embryo quality. Both times we had MANY embryos arrest after day 3 even though they had looked fine.
I would look for a different lab. A different lab really could make all the difference and might make your embryo quality better. Our first two cycles, we have C and D graded embryos. Then we changed labs and got AA and BA embryos. Maybe it was luck, but maybe it was the change in lab.

I agree with pushing out the transfer. I ended up with a day 6 transfer on my second ivf. I was so nervous bc I though I would have nothing to transfer but I trusted my dr and he was right. On day 5 after already driving into the city no less ingot a call that we had one perfect embryo and 3 others he was watching. The leader of those three wasn't clear on day 5. We waited until day 6 and one of those arrested and the other one was much better than the other.
My dr actually even said very soon they will exclusively be doing 6 day transfers.

Both my embryos have been B quality and he said there's not too much difference between a B and an A. I think we need to push to day 5 even if we don't have many to work with.

That is good quality. Sometimes it's just luck. Hoping third time is the charm
