Arrival day at Disney

Do you immediately go to the parks or do you take that 1st day to relax at the hotel, go to Downtown Disney, or something else along those lines?

Go to MK that day. No way I am wasting a day, the first exciting day! I always go to the Magic Kingdom.

Re: Arrival day at Disney

MK! We drove down & planned a stop in St Augustine. Had we had known we'd make such great timing, we would have gone straight to Disney & been their for the morning. So we got there late morning, so by the time we checked-in. They actually were going to text us, when the room was ready & we were going to head to MK. But they texted just as we were going to head to the monorail.
So we dropped the bags off & went. No schedule, no agenda...just purly enjoyed the rides/parades, etc.

Re: Arrival day at Disney

We get there early so we hit the park at lunchtime. We got to have lunch at BOG this time and then ride a few favorites that had shorter lines to get in the mood. If we arrived later I probably wouldn't bother but we get to the park around 12 or 1. Next trip I might take a bit later flight and hang out at the pool and have a relaxing day. So I guess it really depends on what time you arrive. If you can get to the parks around 11-1 you could stay until 5 or 6 and get a decent amount of time then a good night sleep for an early start the next day. See if you get in later then you feel the need to stay in the parks later and you probably want to get up the next day for rope drop.

Re: Arrival day at Disney

Def hit the parks, but dont try to do too much. We had a 6:00 flight in the morning, went to MK all day, went back to the hotel for a short while, then went over to epcot..by the time we got to epcot, all 4 of the boys were sleeping (and we only had 1 double stroller), so 2 had to be held, and we literally felt like crying! Funny now, but not so much then!

We usually go to Downtown Disney for food, shopping, just wetting our toes into the Disney experience.

Then we get to a park early the next morning.

This is what we did as well (but, we were offsite and in a timeshare so we stocked up and such that day).

This is what we did. Between early travel and needing a shower, food and a good night sleep I wanted to be wide awake and feeling fresh. Just did downtown Disney when we got ther.
