Working moms of 3 or more?

I work 4 days per week.
Trying to figure out next year already. My parents watch them now and after this year I know they are done.

Starting sept I will have 2 three year olds and an 18 month old.

I know I want the twins in some type of school at least part time. (Maybe 2 full days)

If you have kids close in age did you try to keep them all together?

Can you share what you are doing?

The cheapest way for us was to split it up. We have 2 in school and a 3 yr old.
We send the 3 year old to full time daycare (private in home)
the 2 boys we have an after school sitter come to our home to get them off the bus

Right now we have all three in the same in home daycare. It's literally another Mtg payment per month but the cheapest option for us. I looked for Preschool for the kids but it needs to be in a daycare center because they need before and after care as well and that was pretty costly. I love that they are all together. The baby is 14 months and the twins are going to be three in December and the they all look for each other during the day if one is missing so it works out well for us.

not in the same boat... but it seems like the easiest thing would be to keep them all together. a lot daycare centers have a preschool type curriculum for the "older" kids. (at least part of the day).. so your older 2 would get the school type thing you want, and your younger would could be in the toddler room in the same place. would make it REALLY easy for drop offs and pick ups. I would look into a center that offers something like that...

would you consider a nanny? one that can take your kids to school? my sister had two in daycare and then once she had #3 she actually found it was cheaper to get a nanny.

I have 4 kids with 2 in pre school, 1 in regular school and a baby at home with either or nanny or family.

We put our 2 DD's in the same school since they offered a sibling discount which made it more affordable. My 1 DD is going into K next year and the other one the year after that. They go for 2.5 hours a day 5 days for 1 and 3 days for the other. I have a sitter/nanny who watches my DS who is 1 3 days a week. The inlaws watch him 1 day and I work from home on the 4th.

It works for us.

If you want the older ones in a school type setting, see who offers a good sibling discount. Check your area for local moms who watch kids in their home. My nanny/sitter lives down the road and picks up my kids from school. It took a little while to figure it all out, but we did find a way to make it work.

We have a nanny. Older ds in regular school until 2. 2nd ds in half day nursery school. Baby at home with the nanny.

Most moms I know with 3 or more have a nanny. It is much easier that way. The nanny comes to the house and you don't have to rush 3 kids off to several different places. If you want your older kids to go to some sort of nursery program the nanny can always take them.
