DD a nightmare taking pics!

I brought DD to Picture People yesterday for 2nd birthday pics. What a nightmare!! She absolutely refused to stand on the backdrop. She would literally walk up to the backdrop and then refuse to step onto it. No amount of bribery would work to get her on there. I was completely exhausted by the time it was over. Anyone else's DC like this??

Yup. My ds is a horror. His cake smash pic session was a total disaster.

Re: DD a nightmare taking pics!

We did pics recently with DD who's 2 1/2. Not fun. We did get a couple of cute shots but it wasn't easy.

I can't even take cute pics of her myself anymore. I have no idea why but she started making crazy faces when I go to take her picture- opening her mouth as wide as possible, goofy smiles. Almost every pic I have of her now has some silly look on her face, I hate it! When I show people pics of her I'm always saying "Don't mind the face, this is her new thing". Can't wait till this phase passes. Chat Icon

Yup.

And trying to get them to work with the people at Target, JCP, Picutre people etc and their 15-20 minute window is almost impossible with some kids.

Especially at this age, hiring a real photographer is a better bet, they are usually willing to spend more time and work with your child. And when all is said and done you usually end up spending about the same amount of money.

Re: DD a nightmare taking pics!

yup!! This is why we decided to just put out the money for a really nice camera and take pics ourselves. Its SOO much easier when you can just take the shots at home while the kids are just being themselves. We're lucky that we have a great backyard so I just dress DS up, take him outside and snap away Chat Icon
Heres a few that I just took for his 3 year old pictures (he turns 3 in a couple weeks)

Yep - we had the same issue for DS' 2nd b-day pics at Picture People. It's the age.

I only do school pictures now (amazingly he poses well when I'm not around) or try to get good shots myself. It's not worth the aggravation on both of us.

Yep, this is why I invested in a good camera. Plus I like my own pics better.

Re: DD a nightmare taking pics!

My 2nd ds was like that. No amount of bribing would work. At almost 4 he is a little mire cooperative for pictures. It wasn't just pro pics he wouldn't take. Know you are not alone.

These are great pics! I wish I could capture pics like that on my own! What camera do you use?
