Teething Pain in Evening Only?
DS turned 24 weeks today and for the past 3 nights has been a screaming, sloppy mess from 4pm-7pm and calms down a bit when he's being held.
He's always been an "oral" baby, putting his fists (and anything else he can find) in his mouth so I can't tell from that angle..
I can't figure out this fussiness! I'm worried my supply is dropping and he's really hungry but he calms down if he's being snuggled.
Thoughts?

Could be a lot of things.
Possibly witching hour and he's just naturally fussy then.
Could be teething, though I would think that would last all day, too.
He could be hungry. Are you supplementing? Giving food, too? Offer more to eat and see if that helps.
Could be tired. Does he nap well?

grace is the same way. she is fine ALL day and then the evening hits and its like she realizes she's teething...
I think its a combo of hungry, overtired, lack of distraction. She is likely feeling it throughout the day but more distracted by everything that is going on.
eta - what is your feeding schedule? time to increase solids or add a meal? does a cold teething ring help?

Great feedback! He's a pretty good napper so I don't think he's overtired (this starts right after his third nap).
I thought about hunger but he pops off after his feeding at that time like he's done, wouldn't he stay on if he was still hungry? and why does the screaming stop when he's held?
We just started solids this week at dinner time.
So between 5:00-7:00 it's usually:
Nurse
Solids
Nurse (doubt he's getting much here)
Pumped bottle
Bed
The screaming while we eat dinner is killing me!

I find that things that bother DS bother him most at the end of the day - it's mostly due to them being tired and lack of patience.

He might just be cranky at night.
But eating 4 times in 2 hours could also be giving him a stomach ache!

dd used to LOVE to scream at dinner time. There was nothing wrong, just her fussy time.

That time of day was DS witching hour. He is almost 2 and still has days where he is a beast during those hrs.
