Finally eating!!
I just have to say that it took 4 years, but DS is finally starting real food. I am not sure if anyone remembers, but I have posted many times about his sensory issues and food aversions. He was on babyfood till 2.5 and then just on smooth or crunchy foods. Now at 4 he is finally working on trying new foods. Loves pizza and nuggets along with pancakes and some other stuff. He's still not a big eater, but at least more willing to try. Figured I'd put it out there for anyone who has had some issues with their LO and feeding. He has been in EI since before 2 seeing an OT and Speech therapist. He now goes to the Special Ed preschool where he gets speech everyday, OT and PT once a week. He really is doing amazing and most pple wouldn't know he has some dev delays. He seems to outgrow some stuff and other is just working on. We can finally go to a friend's birthday party or just other friend's home and I don't have to bring separate food.

Re: Finally eating!!
There is hope for us yet!!!! Does he get feeding therapy? Or did he just decide to try things one day? We are still on the smooth and crunchy foods here with the occasional french fry... He use to eat pancakes and waffles but that stopped sometime last year!!!

I was thinking of you when I posted. He doesn't see a feeding therapist anymore. At 4 he's getting a lot better with trying new things. He can at least tell me how he feels (sometimes). He has an OT, Speech and PT all at school. His speech teachers works with eating at snack time. Plus, he is better with bribes too. Still needs some work with chewing, but between me, his therapists and him growing up he's doing better. Hates spaghetti and still a lot of other foods though

I am thinking the age has a lot to do with it... My son has been willing to try or at least ask to try new things but it doesn't get as far as I would like. One bite or a lick and that is it.. But at least he keeps asking. We have tried mac and cheese and pasta but he said he doesn't like it... Those use to be his faves... His birthday party was a bust when it came to food time. He had a complete meltdown and cried that he wanted to go home.. I can't wait for this to be behind us.. His ST does work with him and I try to encourage him to try something new. I may have to go with the bribing. He has gotten into video games so that may help... We leave for Disney soon and I am not looking forward to meal times.... I am so happy that M has gotten so far!!!!
